Our Mission

We serve Gainesville, Florida through our Community Center and Music History Museum. Developing the Community Center will include outreach programs for youth and people of all ages to play and learn about music. This venue allows aspiring musicians to use our inventory of instruments, learn from each other and form bands. The Interactive Museum archives, restores, will display a collection of instruments and items related to the music history of Gainesville and its surrounding areas.

Our Vision

Everyone will be welcome that has the interest and desire to learn and play music through our Community Center. We honor the history of Gainesville music by presenting in the Museum the bands, their instruments and the memorabilia that affected the world music scene. The Museum will showcase the musicians, concert promoters, managers, club and music store owners, record producers, songwriters and agents that created the Gainesville music scene affecting the world stage, bands, music and their fans.

"Kick-Off the Music" Campaign

Over the next few months our goal is to collect $125,000 allowing us to launch our Capital and our Communnity Fundraising Campaigns. The Kick-Off the Music Campaign is our official launch to establish the Music History Museum, and the Community Center location where young people will be playing music and to show off our music teaching programs for young and old alike.

Campaign Structure

To accomplish our Mission we are Fundraising in four very specific areas. The Capital Campaign will secure the building, renovate the property and complete the Community Center and the Gainesville Music History Museum. The Major Gifts campaign will focus on the specific development and implementation of both facilities. Our Community Campaign provides ongoing sustaining dollars allowing us to realize our Vision through our Community Center programs and the Museum content. Finally Special Events will pull everything together throughout the year, highlighting our progress and engaging the community through special events initiating and building relationships with Gainesville leadership and showcase the Community Center and the progress of the Museum.

After we have acquired the property through our Capital Campaign, the focus will shift toward making the renovations which are required to open the building for public use. Once we have successfully completed the basic renovations we will move to the next step of development.

Our Capital Campaign budget is $3.5 million dollars and will take place over an 18 month period. This includes large contributions from Gainesville and national level sources. We will identify and secure Board members that are community and national leaders with a passion for music while utilizing their resources and their professional expertise to accomplish and realize a project of this magnitude.

Major Gifts has a goal of $2.8 million dollars with a campaign span of 24 months. These monies allow us to purchase, develop and implement the hundreds of components that make up the Community Center and the Gainesville Music History Museum. These dollars are required for the purchase of the high quality items needed to produce World Class facilities.

Our Community Campaign initial budget is $1.7 million dollars over a 24 month period beginning immediately. These funds are used for all of our grassroots initiatives and is ongoing. The Foundation, Community Center and the Music History Museum will utilize these dollars on a daily basis implementing the highest quality programming and resources to serve the Gainesville community.

Special Events will provide the ongoing resources for the many components of this project. Special events also integrate and generate awareness of our vision in the Gainesville community. The power of Special Events is that we can highlight a specific need and or highlight community leadership, craft overall project engagement with Gainesville, while simultaneously addressing specific needs as our project moves forward. Budgets will be developed for each event and can range from $1,500 dollars to $100,000 dollars.

Our total fundraising goal is $8,000,000 dollars.
